Frequently Asked Questions

We know that a lot of people will have questions before coming to tryouts. Here are some of the more frequently asked questions we usually receive.

Q: Do I need cheerleading experience?
A: No experience is required. However experience in cheerleading, gymnastics or dance may be an asset. Above all we are looking for good athletes.

Q: Do I have to sign up in advance?
A: Nope. Just make sure you show up on time with your rec/athletics waiver filled out (this can be done online through SIS)

Q: Do I need to attend SFU?
A: Since we are an SFU Recreation Sports Club, all of our members must be enrolled at or have an acceptance letter from Simon Fraser University or Fraser International College.

Q: What should I wear?
A: Wear appropriate workout clothing (shorts, T-shirts, clean indoor running shoes, etc.). No jewelry should be worn.

A: Tryouts will consist of fitness testing followed by some basic stunts and motions.

Q: Can I bring a spectator?
A: We do not allow spectators at our tryouts.

Q: Are there any height or weight restrictions?
A: No, excellent athletes come in a variety of sizes. However, excellent physical condition is a key factor for success.

A: No.
