About SFU Cheerleading

The primary purpose of the SFU Cheerleading Club is to promote and expand the sport of cheerleading at all levels on and off the SFU campus community. SFU Cheerleading also promotes school spirit by cheering at varsity basketball and football games, competing at cheerleading competitions and participating in various school activities. As well, we teach the sport of cheerleading to youth through clinics, demonstrations and camps.

We have two teams Red and White and attend competitions such as the Power Cheerleading Athletics (PCA) Collegiate Nationals in Toronto, ON and the Sea to Sky International Cheerleading Championship in Vancouver, BC. Our coaches are alumni of the team with over two decades of experience coaching gymnastics and cheerleading. We practice at local gymnastics and cheer gyms primarily in Coquitlam and also on campus at SFU. Throughout the year we also performs at SFU football and basketball games.
